Kolkata, the capital city of West Bengal, is the biggest market for both new and used cars. According to the best second-hand car dealers in Kolkata, the demand for pre-owned cars is much higher than that for brand new ones in the City of Joy. Lower cost is surely fomenting the growth of the used car market. In several circumstances, it makes sense to spend on a used car instead of a new one. After you buy a used car, the first step is to get the ownership transferred to your name. The article discusses the process, requirement, and cost of ownership transfer.
Procedure
As a new owner of the pre-owned car, you have to submit the necessary documents to the RTO within 30 days of the purchase. If the RTO of your residential area is at variance with the RTO of the area where the car was originally registered, you have to get a NOC from the original RTO and submit the same to the local RTO.
If it takes more than 30 days to initiate the procedure of ownership transfer, you have to pay Rs, 500/month as a fine. Many times, the newly used car owners take the help of a middleman for ownership transfer. They spend extra to avoid the hassle of RC transfer. However, the entire process gets simplified if you follow the steps below:
