Tata Motors Ltd. has renamed its Zica car, weeks after the unveiling of the car at At Auto Expo due to coincidence with an outbreak of a similar-sounding virus zika.
The small car, will now be known as the Tiago, which is selected from several entries received through social media and through sms in a global consent.
A company spokeswoman said earlier that the Zika virus wasn’t well known when the car’s name was dreamt up.
Tata Motors said Tiago was selected through a public vote. It didn’t say how it drew up the shortlist.
